Job summary

IEEE is seeking two experienced Commercial Contracts Attorneys for a short-term, temporary assignment in New York City. The role offers a hybrid work structure with three days onsite and two days remote, starting mid-September and lasting about three months, possibly longer.

The attorneys will advise on a broad range of agreements including licensing, IT, and consulting contracts, and support the organization’s non-profit status. Domestic and international matters are expected.

Qualifications

2–4 years related experience in commercial contracts.
Adept at providing commercial legal advice, contract drafting, negotiation and review.
In-house corporate or law firm experience required.
Member in good standing of the NY or NJ state Bar.

Responsibilities

Provides advice and counsel, negotiates, and drafts both domestic and international commercial, business and operational contracts.
Uses and modifies standard forms and templates from a robust internal forms library.
Develops and incorporates new technology solutions for contract management.
Provides training on issues relating to commercial law and contract formation.
Provides general legal advice to various departments within the organization.
Raises the profile of the Legal and Compliance Department within IEEE.
