Job summary

Sun Recruiting, Inc. is seeking an Intermediate Technical Architectural Designer for its New York, NY area. The role may be in NYC or Maitland, FL as needed, with hybrid work options and a strong emphasis on coordination across teams.

The ideal candidate will have a BA (MA preferred) in Architecture, 5–8 years of experience in Corporate/Commercial Workplace or Retail Interiors, and expert Revit/AutoCAD skills to deliver complete construction documentation and technical detailing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (BA); MA a plus.
• 5–8 years of continuous professional experience in Corporate/Commercial Workplace or Retail Interiors.
• Expert proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
• Strong understanding of contract documents, standards, NYC Building Codes and NYC Zoning.

Responsibilities

• Site survey and documentation
• General site code review (egress, fixture counts, path of travel)
• Prepare budget scope drawings and specifications
• Coordinate with the design team and with clients
• Full construction documentation including detailing and specifications
• Coordinate with client, landlord, and consultants
• Review shop drawings and submittals
• Attend weekly project meetings and respond to RFIs
• Site inspections and layout approvals
• Punched list inspection and close-out documentation
