Job summary

Engtal is seeking a Tax Accountant for its growing tax, accounting, and consulting firm. You will prepare federal and state returns for individuals and entities, analyze tax positions, and communicate directly with clients to provide strategic insight.

The role offers a hybrid schedule, generous PTO, and health/dental insurance. A Bachelor's in Accounting, 2+ years public accounting, and CPA progress are preferred, with proficiency in tax software and MS Office expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years public accounting experience.
• Familiarity with tax software (SurePrep, GoSystem, GFR preferred).
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
• CPA license or progress toward CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals, entities, trusts, estates, and gifts
• Analyze tax positions to reduce liabilities and identify planning opportunities
• Communicate directly with clients to address tax questions and provide strategic insight
• Perform general accounting duties to support tax prep, including trial balances and journal entries
