Job summary

Vaco by Highspring is seeking a System Administrator II in Columbia, TN to join a small infrastructure team. The role covers Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Microsoft 365, and Exchange, with a strong emphasis on cross-technology support and documented processes.

The position is contract-to-hire with a 7:00am-4:00pm or 8:00am-5:00pm schedule, starting ASAP. The environment is hybrid with a W2 contract, offering long-term conversion potential.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Systems Administration experience.
• Strong Active Directory administration experience.
• VMware experience in a production environment.
• Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and/or Exchange.
• Solid troubleshooting skills with root-cause capability.
• Comfortable working with multiple technologies in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and a team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain Windows Server environments.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, user access, and related services.
• Support VMware infrastructure, including virtual machines and host administration.
• Assist with Microsoft 365 and Exchange administration.
• Troubleshoot issues involving servers, storage, networking, and enterprise applications.
• Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for complex technical problems.
• Participate in upgrades, maintenance activities, and infrastructure improvements.
• Support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity processes.
• Create and maintain technical documentation.
• Assist with infrastructure projects and occasionally lead smaller initiatives.
