Job summary

County of San Luis Obispo Information Technology Department seeks an IT Systems Administrator I/II/III to join a skilled team supporting county-wide systems and services. The role covers planning, installation, maintenance, upgrades and overall system support for hardware and software components.

The ideal candidate will manage security, backups, scripting, and documentation while collaborating with departments to ensure high availability and minimal interruptions.

Qualifications

• Combination of education, training, and experience to meet role knowledge and abilities.
• Experience installing and maintaining hardware and software systems for enterprise IT environments.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts related to user access and data flow.

Responsibilities

• Configure, operate, and maintain programs, databases and systems.
• Troubleshoot and resolve software and system issues to minimize downtime.
• Provide technical support to county staff and customers during deployment and operations.
• Document systems and processes per established standards.
• Assist with security, backups, and disaster recovery planning and testing.
