Job summary

Mesa Associates, Inc are seeking an experienced engineer for Power Substation Physical Design in the Knoxville, TN area. The role supports design packages for 34.5kV to 500kV substations in a collaborative office setting.

The ideal candidate has 6–12 years in the power utility sector, ABET accreditation, and proficiency with AutoCAD or Inventor. Hybrid in-office work is offered; relocation is not indicated.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited BSEE or BSME required.
• 6–12 years of experience in the power utility industry.
• Experience with physical substation design and standards is needed.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and/or Autodesk Inventor is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform Physical Substation design with a high degree of accuracy (Quality).
• Work well as a team member as well as individually.
• Use AutoCAD to create the assigned deliverables.
• Interact with the Customer and meet their schedule and budgeting requirements.
• Mentor junior Engineers/Designers.
• Review work of other team members.
• Perform work safely.
