Job summary

BHMG Engineers, Inc. is seeking a skilled Drafter to produce detailed electrical drawings and documentation for substation projects. The role supports project execution with accurate, timely deliverables and offers on-site or hybrid schedules in St.

Louis, MO, Collinsville, IL, or Bettendorf, IA. Qualifications include an associate or bachelor’s degree in Drafting or related field and 2+ years of relevant drafting experience.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of substation, electrical, or utility drafting experience.
• Equivalent combinations of education, training, and practical experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Prepare complete substation drawing packages, including one-lines, panel layouts, AC/DC schematics, wiring diagrams, and physical layout drawings.
• Ensure compliance with client standards or apply BHMG standards when client standards are not provided.
• Maintain and update drawing lists, ensuring accuracy, document control, and alignment with approved project deliverables.
• Interpret engineering markups, design criteria, and standards to produce accurate, compliant drawings.
• Update and revise existing (brownfield) drawings, resolving drafting inconsistencies and documentation gaps.
• Perform plotting, batch plotting, scanning, and issuing of drawing and documentation packages.
• Manage workload across multiple projects, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
• Provide basic drafting guidance and standards support to Associate Drafters.
