Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a drafting professional for a hybrid role in New Jersey. You will collaborate with engineers and designers to prepare design drawings, using AutoCAD and MicroStation. Training includes 3D design environments and proprietary databases.

You will develop master sketches, verify dimensions, and support field walkdowns while coordinating with vendors to refine drawings. Prior CAD experience and spatial visualization are essential.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Drafting or equivalent technical experience.
• Advanced knowledge of computer drafting tools (AutoCAD and/or MicroStation).
• Ability to visualize Equipment Details, Phase to Ground and Phase to Phase Clearances.
• Ability to multi-task from project to project.
• Ability to visualize parts in 3D without the aid of a computer.

Responsibilities

• Assist in drafting and preparing design drawings based on input from engineers and designers.
• Create master sketches to scale showing relation of proposed installations to existing facilities and exact specs.
• Participate in walkdowns at client facilities to collect information for design projects.
• Explain drawings to vendors/construction contractors to facilitate design adjustments.
