Job summary

Patterson Engineering, Inc. (PEI) in Southern California is seeking a full-time Structural Project Manager to oversee production, budgets, and content of construction documents for projects in San Diego.

You will lead the design team and report to the Production Director, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery. The role requires 6+ years of experience, PE registration, and proficiency in RISA, EnerCalc, Excel, AutoCAD, and Revit.

Qualifications

• BS in Civil/Structural Engineering from ABET-accredited program; MS preferred.
• 6+ years of relevant experience with state PE registration; SE preferred.
• Proficiency in RISA, EnerCalc, and Excel; working knowledge of AutoCAD & Revit.

Responsibilities

• Produce, budget, and content of construction documents.
• Seal engineering plans and calculations using Excel, RISA, EnerCalc, etc.
• Establish, delegate, prioritize, manage, and communicate project tasks and timelines to meet deadlines with resource allocations.
• Facilitate internal production team meetings and coordinate with the Production Director to accommodate workload and project distribution.
• Maintain communication with clients and project trades; resolve structural challenges.
• Mentor staff and support business development efforts to grow the PEI network.
• Perform site observations to verify construction compliance with PEI specs.
