Job summary

raSmith is seeking a Structural CAD Technician with 3+ years of experience to prepare construction documents and perform CAD tasks for our Structural Services division. This role supports projects nationwide from multiple offices, with a hybrid home/office work arrangement.

The ideal candidate will have an Associate’s Degree in drafting technologies and strong AutoCAD skills, with Revit experience considered a plus. Join a team focused on quality, growth, and community impact.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in drafting technologies and at least 3 years of progressive AutoCAD experience.
• Thorough understanding of and proficiency using AutoCAD.
• Ability to learn and become proficient using other CAD and design software.
• Working knowledge of structural building components and assembly.

Responsibilities

• Prepares construction documents from data and specifications submitted by engineers.
• Utilizes computer aided drafting techniques to perform applicable work.
• Adds engineering markings to plan sets.
• Alters drawings to conform with engineering changes.
• Analyzes drawings to ensure accuracy.
• Coordinates work with Project Managers, Engineers, and other CAD Technicians.
• Completes preliminary design work with direction from engineers.
