Job summary

Blumark Tax Advisors, LLC seeks a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to own accounting processes from start to finish, serving 10–15 small-business clients. The role is based in Bay City, MI with a hybrid schedule: three days in office, two remote, with potential for fully remote after onboarding.

You will manage full-cycle accounting, payroll, and compliance, preparing financial statements and year-end workpapers, and communicating with owners on results and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of accounting or bookkeeping experience.
• Full-cycle accounting and hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Proficiency with QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle accounting and bookkeeping for 10–15 small-business clients.
• Reconcile bank, credit card, loan, payroll, and balance-sheet accounts and close monthly/annually.
• Prepare financial statements, supporting schedules, fixed-asset records, and year-end workpapers.
• Process payroll for multiple clients and maintain accurate payroll records and data.
• Prepare payroll tax returns, review filings, and support quarterly/annual reporting.
• Resolve payroll tax notices and ensure federal, state, and local compliance.
• Assist with sales tax and other recurring filings.
• Communicate with business owners about results, needs, deadlines, and improvements.
