Aristotle is seeking a Staff Accountant to support daily accounting operations in a hybrid Los Angeles setting. You will handle AP processing, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close while ensuring accuracy and policy compliance.

The role emphasizes attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and with teams. A BA/BS in accounting or finance is preferred, with CPA a plus.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of progressive general accounting or corporate finance experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field strongly preferred.
• CPA license is a plus but not required.
• Highly detail-oriented, organized, and accurate.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a solution-oriented mindset.
• Experience with NetSuite, Tipalti, or Ramp is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and review invoices ensuring signatory authority, approval limits, and correct coding to the proper general ledger accounts and entities.
• Ensure timely payment of all invoices in accordance with vendor terms and agreed payment batch schedules.
• Assist with the month-end and year-end closing process, including booking journal entries, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial statement support schedules.
• Review corporate card expenses and reimbursements for compliance with company policies and approval workflows.
• Assist with annual 1099 filings and other audit-related support.
