Job summary

Chef Works is seeking a Staff Accountant to join the Accounting and Finance team in Poway, CA. You will maintain financial records, perform reconciliations, and support month-end and year-end close activities, collaborating with AR, AP and other departments to ensure accurate cash activity.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of general accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and familiarity with ERP systems; Avalara knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent.
• 2–5 years progressive general accounting experience.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; ERP experience required; Sage preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly balance sheet and cash-related reconciliations.
• Collaborate with AR and AP to ensure timely cash activity.
• Prepare and maintain accounting for leases and intercompany charges.
• Reconcile employee expenses and assist with audits.
• Support tax compliance with Avalara and assist with year-end close.
