Job summary

First Insight, Inc. is seeking a Staff Accountant in Pittsburgh, PA to support audits, AR/AP, taxation, budgeting and process optimisation. Reporting to the Controller, you will play a key role in the company’s financial future as a temp-to-hire position with hybrid work options.

The role requires a strong accounting foundation, 5+ years of experience, familiarity with Netsuite, and a proactive mindset to improve systems and controls while delivering accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• BSc/BA in accounting or finance (MSc/MA a plus).
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• In-depth knowledge of corporate finance and accounting principles, laws and best practices.
• Experience with financial analysis and forecasting is a plus.
• Experience with Netsuite.
• CPA or other relevant qualification is a plus.
• Ability to work in a dynamic environment and balance multiple responsibilities.
• Outstanding communication skills and time-management.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries and monthly account reconciliations related to cash, accounts receivable and various other general ledger accounts.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual financial close.
• Assist with cash reconciliation and management.
• Participation in annual audits and implementation of audit recommendations.
• Direct support to the Accounting general ledger team with month-end and year-end journal entries and analysis of operating results.
• Participation in Accounting team initiatives to implement systems, increase automation and enhance efficiencies.
• Maintenance of processes, procedures and internal controls.
• Daily reconciliation/payment processing of credit card customers.
• Maintenance and reconciliation of balance sheet and general ledger accounts.
• Other duties and ad hoc projects as required.
