Job summary

PJM Interconnection in the United States is seeking a Stability Engineer to perform reliability analysis in support of New Service Requests within the PJM Interconnection Process. The role focuses on system impact studies, transmission reinforcements, and ensuring compliance with NERC/IEEE standards.

You will develop base-case models, manage multiple projects with contractors, prepare technical reports, and contribute to planning process improvements.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical).
• 4+ years of power-systems experience.
• Experience with PSSE, PSCAD, TARA.
• Strong problem-solving and communication.
• Familiar with NERC and IEEE standards.
• Ability to produce high-quality analysis outputs.
• Experience using scripting for automation (Python/FORTRAN).

Responsibilities

• Perform power system and dynamic stability analyses for New Service Requests.
• Evaluate transmission reinforcements to maintain reliability.
• Collaborate with Transmission Owner staff on reinforcements.
• Support data reviews for New Service Requests.
• Create and maintain power flow and dynamics models.
• Manage multiple projects and coordinate with contractors.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations.
• Support development of PJM planning manuals.
• Identify and develop new planning methods.
• Work with System Planning Division to solve engineering problems.
• Represent PJM on industry committees.
