Job summary

New Wave People seeks a seasoned SQL Server DBA to design, implement, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server and Azure Managed instances. You will drive high availability, security, backups, and performance tuning across on-prem and cloud environments.

The role requires 5+ years of hands-on experience and a strong foundation in Windows Server, SQL Server, and Azure, with preferred Python knowledge for automation. Strong collaboration with IT teams is essential.

Qualifications

5+ years hands-on experience as a SQL Server DBA.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
Expert knowledge in Windows Server, SQL Server, Azure cloud platform and specifically SQL Managed Instance, Azure Storage account and Azure security fundamentals.
Experience implementing High availability (Always-on).
Strong Knowledge of SQL; Python is preferred.
Certifications in Microsoft technologies are preferred.

Responsibilities

Design and oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of database technologies to meet availability targets.
Perform database administration tasks including data modeling, migrations, security and performance tuning.
Design, configure and install database software modules and applications.
Develop backup schedules, verification testing and related documentation.
Coordinate with system, network, and help desk staff to meet database infrastructure requirements.
Ensure documentation and record keeping for IT assets and compliance.
