Job summary

Innovee Consulting LLC is seeking an experienced SQL Database Administrator for a 12-month hybrid assignment in New York. The role focuses on designing, implementing, maintaining, tuning and optimizing all MTA databases to meet current and future software requirements.

You will manage Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Managed Instance, perform migrations, ensure security and backup strategies, and collaborate with application teams and infrastructure staff.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on experience as a SQL Server Database Administrator.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or equivalent experience.
• Expert knowledge in Windows Server, SQL Server, Azure cloud platform and specifically SQL Managed Instance, Azure Storage account and Azure security fundamental.
• Experience implementing High availability (Always-on).
• Strong Knowledge of SQL. Knowledge of Python is preferred.
• Certifications in Microsoft technologies are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain database technologies and resources to ensure that all MTA application and systems availability targets are met.
• Perform database administration tasks including data process flows, data modeling, data migrations, security and performance tuning.
• Develop backup schedules, verification testing and related documentation.
• Collaborate with system admins, network admins, help desk staff to coordinate database infrastructure requirements.
• Document standards and procedures for IT assets and database operations.
• Guide less senior staff and participate in evaluating new database products and technologies.
