Job summary

SAIC in San Diego, CA is seeking a Senior Software Technical Writer to maintain program documents, training materials,How-to guides and system user manuals for the CCS software-intensive program. This is a hybrid position with on-site work required at NIWC Pacific, Seaside, at least two days a week.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years as a technical writer in a software environment, plus 2 years with Jira and Confluence for requirements management and reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years as a Technical Writer in a software environment.
• 2 years of experience with Jira Project Management Software including status updates, task creation and report generation.
• Experience working in customer environments and collaborating with other contracting firms.
• Knowledge of accessing, handling, and transporting classified material.
• Knowledge and experience using Jira and Confluence to search, edit, update entries, create new entries, and generate reports for requirements management.
• Must be a U.S. Citizen and have an Active Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and edit materials for reports, manuals, briefs, instructions, and related publications concerning software systems.
• Support Configuration Management for data repositories and distributed media by uploading, routing, archiving and generating artifacts.
• Perform requirements management and data entry to record, revise and report changes to requirements and create new requirements and their associated issues in electronic databases including Jira and Confluence.
