Job summary

Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company of Iowa is seeking an Experienced Software Developer to join our application development team. You will collaborate with colleagues to build and enhance enterprise Java and Python applications that support farmers worldwide.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of OO development, experience with Spring/Hibernate, SQL, and RESTful APIs; GIS and ESRI JS API are a plus. We offer a hybrid schedule in West Des Moines, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years developing OO, enterprise-level Java apps.
• Experience with JavaScript, Python, Spring, Hibernate, jQuery, Bootstrap, SQL, Oracle, RabbitMQ, RESTful APIs.
• Agile environment experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to develop and validate software per company specs.
• Clarify requirements documents and specs.
• Troubleshoot coding issues quickly.
• Create, update, and maintain documentation.
• Lead tasks and projects per manager direction.
• Collaborate within a team and support SDLC improvements.
• Contribute to ongoing process improvements in SDLC.
