Job summary

The Shipyard is seeking a creative Social Media Designer to bring brands to life across social channels. You’ll craft graphics, posts, stories, reels and short-form video, collaborating with creative, social, PR and account teams to turn strategy into compelling content.

This hybrid role requires in-office presence on Tuesdays and Thursdays and candidates living near Columbus, OH; Cleveland, OH; Denver, CO; New York, NY; or San Diego, CA are preferred.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience in graphic design, social media, marketing or content creation.
• A portfolio demonstrating strong visual storytelling and social-first creative.
• Strong visual eye and detail, adaptable across platforms.
• Experience creating content for Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.
• Familiarity with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut and Figma.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute social-first creative across multiple clients (graphics, posts, stories, reels).
• Plan and execute social media calendars aligning with brand strategies.
• Create and edit short-form video for multiple platforms.
• Capture and edit photo/video content for social channels and campaigns.
• Brainstorm ideas and campaigns that connect brands with audiences.
• Monitor trends and identify authentic participation opportunities for clients.
• Support captions and brand voice alignment across channels.
• Help evolve brand guidelines and social best practices.
• Assist community management and timely audience engagement.
• Collaborate across disciplines to realize integrated campaigns.
• Implement feedback to improve work quality.
• Track engagement and performance, linking content to goals.
