Job summary

Faith in Action is seeking a Communications Intern to support our team in telling stories of faith-rooted organizing for justice. This role offers hands-on experience in media relations, digital communications, storytelling, social media, and advocacy communications.

You will work with the communications team to develop content, assist with media outreach, monitor news and social channels, and amplify leaders and community members.

Qualifications

• A strong writer and storyteller with excellent attention to detail.
• Passionate about social justice, racial justice, democracy, immigration, economic justice, and/or faith-based organizing.
• Interested in the intersection of faith, politics, organizing, and communications.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple deadlines.
• Familiar with social media platforms and digital communications.
• Able to conduct online research and synthesize information quickly.

Responsibilities

• Draft press releases, media advisories, statements, talking points, and media pitches.
• Research journalists, publications, and media outlets covering politics, faith, immigration, racial justice, democracy, and social movements.
• Help maintain and update media lists.
• Monitor news coverage and identify opportunities to elevate Faith in Action leaders and campaigns.
• Track media mentions and help compile communications reports.
• Support preparation for press conferences, public actions, and other media events.
