Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Simulation Engineer to conduct throughput analysis and simulate new vehicle programs across the Global Vehicle Development Process. You will partner with Manufacturing Engineering to design and optimize current and future manufacturing systems, supporting plants in throughput improvement initiatives.

The role requires 2+ years in engineering, discrete event simulation, and knowledge of TOC and Lean principles. Hybrid work in Warren, MI with ~5–10% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of engineering or manufacturing experience.
• 2+ years of experience with discrete event simulation.
• Familiarity with the Theory of Constraints.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet short and long-term deadlines while managing multiple projects.
• High level of analytical ability for solving complex problems.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing Principles.

Responsibilities

• Implement simulation deliverables for assigned new or major vehicle programs.
• Conduct analyses and experiments, interpret results, and produce standard reports with potential improvements.
• Respond to throughput simulation requests from assigned manufacturing facilities.
• Support Manufacturing Engineering optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Extract inputs from Manufacturing Planning & Engineering documents.
• Coordinate with MSIE, GA, Conveyor, and IE organizations.
• Utilize and contribute to standardized work and lessons learned.
• Deliver results to customers.
• Interface with Execution and Process Leads to support total plant throughput strategy.
• Interface with Execution and Process teams to validate and update Data Sets.
• Support the development and refinement of station level data.
• Occasional travel, approximately 5-10%.
