Job summary

Humana is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead design, optimization, and modernization of HIT solutions supporting eHub and related business teams. You will blend hands-on engineering with technical leadership to enhance reliability, security, and provider experience.

The role combines modernization, AI-enabled productivity, and scalable integration patterns, with onsite presence 1–2 times per week in Louisville, KY or Nashville, TN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of software or systems engineering experience.
• Experience developing and supporting enterprise applications.
• Experience with .NET frameworks and SQL databases.
• Experience with Azure or another cloud platform.
• Experience with application integration, batch processing, and large-scale transactional systems.
• Experience with secure engineering practices and enterprise standards.
• Experience analyzing technical issues and providing solutions.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams and communicating with stakeholders.
• Passion for improving consumer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, enhance, and support scalable, secure tech solutions with cross-functional teams.
• Lead modernization and lifecycle improvements across apps and integrations.
• Drive delivery of complex initiatives and guide solution design and implementation.
• Analyze issues and optimize performance and reliability.
• Troubleshoot complex application and connectivity issues with internal and external partners.
• Support monitoring, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
