Job summary

Consumers Energy in Michigan seeks a Senior Manager of Security to lead enterprise security strategy across operations, IAM, risk, privacy, networking, and compliance. You will shape policies, coordinate incidents, and drive security programs aligned with business goals.

You will mentor security professionals, manage budgets, and collaborate with IT, legal, compliance, and auditors to strengthen resilience and regulatory compliance across the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field and 7+ years of security/IT experience.
• Experience leading security programs across multiple domains (IAM, network, risk, compliance).
• Strong collaboration with executive leadership, IT, legal, and auditors.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement the organization's security strategy and ensure regulatory alignment.
• Serve as primary escalation point for significant security incidents and remediation.
• Oversee risk assessment and mitigation with privacy and regulatory controls.
• Stay informed on threats and technologies to strengthen security posture.
• Manage workload, budgeting, KPIs, and security program efficiency.
• Mentor and develop security professionals and foster DEI in the team.
• Lead Security Operations, IAM, Network, and Risk/Compliance functions, incl. BCP/DR.
• Drive automation/orchestration strategy to accelerate security delivery.
