Job summary

Pinellas County Government seeks a Senior Security Analyst to strengthen cybersecurity operations. You will lead threat detection, incident response, and security improvements across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments in support of county services.

This role requires seven years of experience, deep knowledge of EDR/XDR, SIEM/SOAR, cloud security (Azure/AWS), and the ability to translate complex risks into actionable guidance. A hybrid schedule and on-call duties are part of the position.

Qualifications

• 7 years of progressively responsible cybersecurity experience.
• Advanced knowledge of endpoint security technologies, including EDR/XDR, and modern SOC/MDR operations.
• Experience securing cloud environments, including Microsoft Azure, AWS, and SaaS platforms.
• Experience with identity security, SIEM/SOAR technologies, vulnerability management, and security automation.
• Strong understanding of network security, evolving cyber threats, exploitation techniques, and defensive security controls.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and security frameworks such as CJIS, FedRAMP, NIST, and PCI-DSS.

Responsibilities

• Lead security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Leverage SOC, SIEM, EDR, and MDR technologies.
• Conduct proactive threat hunting, malware analysis, and complex security event correlation.
• Support digital forensic investigations and coordinated responses to security incidents.
• Collaborate with other teams to integrate security into daily operations and mentor junior analysts.
