Job summary

Pinellas County Government is seeking an experienced Senior Security Analyst to strengthen our cybersecurity operations and protect critical systems. This hybrid role in Clearwater requires leading incident response, threat hunting, and security improvements across on-premises and cloud environments.

You will collaborate with enterprise teams, mentor junior analysts, and help implement frameworks like NIST and CIS Controls while supporting disaster recovery planning and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressively responsible cybersecurity experience.
• Advanced knowledge of endpoint security technologies (EDR/XDR) and modern SOC/MDR operations.
• Experience securing cloud environments (Azure, AWS) and SaaS platforms.
• Experience with identity security, SIEM/SOAR, vulnerability management, and security automation.
• Strong understanding of network security, cyber threats, and defensive controls.
• Familiarity with CJIS, FedRAMP, NIST, and PCI-DSS frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced security monitoring, threat detection, and incident response across on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend effective mitigations.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and communicate risks to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
• Support audits and compliance initiatives and contribute to disaster recovery planning.
