Job summary

Transamerica is seeking a Retirement Plan Documents Analyst to prepare and maintain retirement plan documents for 401(a), 401(k), and 403(b) plans. The role involves analyzing complex plan design changes, ensuring regulatory compliance, and coordinating with clients, attorneys, and management teams.

You will review mergers and acquisitions for plan impact, support terminations, and serve as a technical resource on plan document matters in a hybrid in-office setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent education/experience.
• Five years of pension/retirement plan experience.
• In-depth knowledge of retirement plan regulations, plan document interpretation, and plan design for qualified retirement plans.
• Experience analyzing complex plan design provisions and evaluating the operational impact of plan document changes.
• Strong written communication skills to explain complex retirement plan concepts.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain retirement plan documents, summary plan descriptions, amendments, resolutions, and related funding documents for new and existing clients.
• Analyze and consult on complex plan design changes, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations while supporting client goals and objectives.
• Partner with clients, advisors, attorneys, Client Management, Transition/Installation teams, and other operational areas to resolve plan document and compliance-related issues.
• Review and analyze plan mergers, spin-offs, acquisitions, and other complex transactions to ensure accrued benefits are protected and plan documents align with administrative capabilities.
• Research retirement plan compliance and design issues and provide recommendations on complex client situations and escalations.
• Support plan terminations by preparing required amendments, resolutions, participant communications, and regulatory filings.
• Identify potential operational, compliance, and business risks associated with plan document provisions and recommend appropriate solutions.
• Assist in the implementation of legislative and regulatory changes, including plan restatement and amendment projects.
• Serve as a technical resource for retirement plan document and plan design matters.
