Job summary

Xcel Energy in Monticello, MN seeks a Sr. Project Manager to lead plant-improvement projects with $30+ million annual budgets. You will drive planning, scheduling, and cost control under PMBOK guidelines, coordinating with cross-functional teams in a nuclear environment.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years in engineering/construction, 5+ years nuclear PM experience, and PMP/PE certifications; hybrid onsite work is expected three days weekly.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in engineering, construction management, or similar field.
• 5 years of nuclear experience with project management exposure.
• BS in engineering, construction management, business, or related field.
• PMI PMP certification preferred; PE certification advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, business case development, and approvals for complex projects.
• Develop schedules, budgets, and cost-benefit analyses; manage milestones.
• Control project finances, forecasts, and contract administration.
• Forecast and manage resources; oversee vendor performance and payments.
• Manage scope changes, risks, and stakeholder communications up to senior leaders.
• Collaborate with INPO, NRC and other nuclear groups to ensure compliance.
