Job summary

Wellington Management is seeking a Senior Portfolio Accounting Analyst on the Reconciliation Team to research and resolve reconciliation items between Wellington and client custodian banks, prime brokers, and accounting agents. The role requires a deep understanding of investment accounting and strong attention to detail.

You will work with a global team, identify break patterns, and propose process improvements while maintaining audit trails and clear documentation for in-flight items.

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of experience in the Financial Services industry.
• Accounting, custody, and/or reconciliation experience.
• Experience working with data in Excel.
• Deep understanding of accounting for fixed income and equity.
• Baseline understanding of accounting for derivatives and synthetic exposures.
• Inquisitive and comfortable challenging the status-quo.
• Demonstrated effective communication skills, and a high level of attention to detail.
• Comfort working across a global team.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience in a collaborative, team-based, results-oriented environment.
• Cheerful outlook, self‑motivated and willing to work in an energetic, fast paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with internal groups to identify and resolve open reconciliation items.
• Identify break patterns and opportunities for process and control improvements.
• Use bank portals in the research of position, cash, and market value differences.
• Maintain concise documentation and proper audit trail for in flight items.
• Analyze bank data to improve the quality of the reconciliation results.
• Collaborate and provide guidance to outsourced team members on escalated issues or inquiries.
