Job summary

Prince William County Government's Department of Parks and Recreation is seeking a Senior Planner to lead long-range planning, land acquisitions, easements, and trail/master planning efforts, with an emphasis on health and quality of life for residents.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Planning or related field and about six years of experience, with skills in reading deeds and plats, preparing staff reports and resolutions, grant writing, and coordinating with multiple

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Planning or related field and 6 years of experience.
• Experience reading deeds and plats; LRMS familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reading and interpreting deeds, plats, land acquisitions, and easement documents.
• Production of staff reports and resolutions for Board approval, park and trail master plans.
• Negotiating land acquisitions and easements; recommendations to the Planning Manager.
