Job summary

Goodyear in Akron, OH is seeking a Senior Principal Engineer to drive NVH modeling strategy and support an in-house massively parallel code for tire performance prediction.

You will develop, maintain and document FEA tools, train colleagues, and collaborate on applied and fundamental tire engineering projects that lead to new products and technologies.

Strong background in structural dynamics and acoustics, and experience with Abaqus, Nastran, Ansys, Python and C++, are required.

Qualifications

• MSc degree in Mechanical, Mechatronics, Civil or Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar.
• Strong knowledge in structural dynamics and acoustics.
• Experience with computational solid mechanics and multiscale methods.

Responsibilities

• Drive, maintain and support the NVH modeling strategy.
• Support finite element code development for tire performance prediction.
• Collaborate with the team to document rules and codify them into manuals.
• Participate in design, development and industrialization of tire projects and tools.
