Job summary

Benchmark IT - Technology Talent is seeking a Senior Network Security Engineer to maintain, secure, and enhance a complex enterprise network infrastructure. This hands-on role focuses on network engineering, firewall security, and infrastructure reliability across Cisco environments.

The ideal candidate will guide security projects, provide technical documentation, and ensure compliance with industry standards while participating in after-hours rotations as needed.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in network infrastructure engineering, including at least 4 years in firewall or security systems.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, business, or related field.
• Strong Cisco routing and switching experience in enterprise networks.
• Hands-on firewall configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
• Ability to manage projects and document technical solutions.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and enhance network infrastructure, including switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, and network management systems.
• Design, implement, and support network and security solutions, including standardized configurations and build templates.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues, analyze traffic, and resolve performance, connectivity, and security problems.
• Monitor network performance, resource utilization, licensing, and infrastructure health.
• Ensure network equipment and configurations meet applicable security and compliance standards.
• Design, install, and support new network hardware, software, and infrastructure.
• Lead or coordinate network and security projects, managing scope, schedules, budgets, and resources.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, configuration standards, technical documentation, and work instructions.
• Support infrastructure procurement, licensing, and vendor or contract activities.
• Perform preventative maintenance and participate in a rotating after-hours support schedule.
