Job summary

Birmingham City University seeks a Senior Lecturer in Initial Teacher Education (ITE) with proven leadership and practitioner credentials to develop trainee teachers in school and higher education settings.

You will lead curriculum delivery, steward partnerships with primary and secondary courses, and mentor school-based training to secure strong QTS outcomes while driving quality assurance and staff development.

Qualifications

• You must have taught in Primary and/ or Secondary Schools and hold QTS.
• Experience of leadership in Initial Teacher Education (ITE).
• An enhanced DBS check is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

• Lead Initial Teacher Education provision and collaborate with Primary/Secondary courses.
• Deliver curriculum and lead mentoring to quality assure school-based training.
• Build partnerships and drive quality assurance to secure trainee QTS outcomes.
• Represent the department at events and support recruitment and staff development.
