Job summary

Great Gray Group is seeking a Senior Investment Analyst to join the Investment team. You will support portfolio management, manager research, content development, and client support with emphasis on advanced Excel and private markets knowledge.

The role reports to the Deputy Chief Investment Officer and requires 6+ years in investment management, with strong communication skills and ability to handle multiple workstreams in a hybrid Boston-area environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business or related field.
• 6+ years of experience in investment management, consulting, or financial services.
• Advanced Excel skills with complex models and scenarios.
• Experience with defined contribution investment structures, including target-date strategies and stable value.
• Familiarity with portfolio construction concepts: asset allocation, glidepath, rebalancing.
• Exposure to private markets (private equity, private credit, real assets, or hedge funds).
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to produce polished investment content.
• High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines across multiple workstreams.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and growth-focused values.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and maintenance of complex Excel models for portfolio construction, rebalancing, and allocation analysis.
• Conduct manager research and due diligence across public and private market strategies.
• Oversee investment commentary and client-facing content for sales and relationship teams.
• Support responses to investment inquiries from advisors, consultants, and institutional partners.
• Assist discretionary portfolio oversight and timely trade implementation with investment ops.
• Maintain data integrity across investment reporting systems; support quarterly/ad-hoc reporting.
• Collaborate with sales, operations, legal, and technology on projects and client deliverables.
