Job summary

LinkedIn’s Infrastructure Business Engineering team seeks a Senior Sourcing Engineer based in Mountain View, CA, offering a hybrid work model. You will own end-to-end sourcing for critical infrastructure categories, collaborating with engineering, finance, legal, and procurement to achieve cost and risk objectives.

You will lead RFx events, negotiate terms, draft supplier agreements, and manage the supplier lifecycle while driving measurable savings and ensuring timely procurement processes.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, commodity management, or vendor management for technology or infrastructure products and services.
• 3+ years of experience negotiating and executing supplier contracts (e.g., MSAs, SOWs, purchase agreements).

Responsibilities

• Own sourcing strategy and execution for assigned infrastructure categories, such as data center equipment and services, telecom/circuits, and infrastructure software/SaaS
• Partner with engineering and technical leaders to understand roadmaps, utilization, and demand; right-size purchases in line with capacity plans and budget
• Lead RFx events (RFI/RFP/RFQ): build bid packages, run supplier evaluations, perform total cost of ownership (TCO) and should-cost analysis, and make award recommendations
• Develop negotiation strategies with stakeholders and lead commercial negotiations on pricing, terms, SLAs, warranty/support, and lead times
• Draft, review, and execute supplier agreements (MSAs, SOWs, purchase agreements, amendments, renewals) in partnership with Legal, Security, and Privacy
• Manage the end-to-end supplier lifecycle: selection, onboarding, quarterly business reviews, performance scorecards, and issue escalation
• Drive and report cost savings and cost avoidance against team targets; support budget planning, forecasting, and plan-vs-actual variance analysis with Finance
• Monitor market trends, pricing, and supply constraints; identify supply continuity and pricing risks and propose mitigation (dual-sourcing, buffer strategies, long-term agreements)
• Manage a pipeline of sourcing requests from intake through execution, ensuring on-time PR/PO and procure-to-pay support
• Improve sourcing processes, tools, and reporting (e.g., contract repository, request tracking, spend dashboards)
