Job summary

Elevance Health seeks a Financial Accounting Analyst Senior to manage financial close, analysis, and reporting, providing project leadership and technical direction. The role requires 5+ years in accounting within a large for-profit organization and preferred certifications such as CPA/CMA/MBA.

Experience with PeopleSoft, Costpoint, Cognos, and Excel is expected. The position supports audits and month-end processes, with hybrid in-office collaboration 1–2 days weekly.

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance, or related field and a minimum of 5 years experience in general accounting, finance or budgeting and planning in a large for profit organization; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
• CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
• Experience with Oracle PeopleSoft, Deltek Costpoint, IBM Cognos, and Microsoft Excel
• Experience supporting audits.
• Previous work experience with month-end close processes, account reconciliations, and federal government contracting accounting principles preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, reviews, and approves journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Manages close processes, related analysis, and reporting.
• Prepares and reviews monthly and quarterly financial reports and complex analysis.
• Responsible for initiation and resolution of complex accounting problems requiring technical expertise.
• Responsible for providing technical leadership and setting strategic direction of projects.
• Designs research plans for data gathering and analysis and manages projects to deadlines.
• May lead teams of associates.
• Mentors, trains, and coaches lower-level accountants.
• Monitors, updates, and tracks policies and procedures.
