Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Business Systems Engineer to join an innovative biotechnology and agriculture organization in a hybrid setting in Durham, NC. This role partners with business and technology teams to identify operational challenges, optimize processes, and implement scalable ERP solutions across Finance, Supply Chain, HR, and R&D.

The successful candidate will translate business needs into system requirements, lead initiatives from discovery to adoption, and leverage ERP

Qualifications

• 3-5 years in Business Systems, Software Engineering, or ERP-related roles.
• Eligible to work in the United States and obtain a Secret clearance.
• Experience with major ERP platforms (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, Workday).
• Ability to partner with leaders across Finance, Supply Chain, HR and R&D.
• Strong business process analysis and enterprise systems strategy.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders across multiple functions to identify needs.
• Analyze processes and workflows to improve efficiency with scalable solutions.
• Translate business requirements into ERP system design.
• Act as a trusted liaison between business teams and technical resources.
• Lead ERP improvements with minimal unnecessary customization.
• Drive initiatives from requirements through implementation and adoption.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to prioritize projects and outcomes.
• Support system integrations and continuous improvement of enterprise apps.
• Explore AI-driven opportunities to optimize processes.
• Contribute to the enterprise systems roadmap and future-state vision.
