Our client in Welkom, Free State seeks a Senior Electrical Engineer with 6+ years in power systems, to design distribution networks, perform detailed analyses, and lead projects with site visits. ECSA registration and experience with ETAP/PSS/E/PowerFactory are required.

The role is hybrid, offering a base salary plus bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package including provident fund and medical aid.

Qualifications

• B.Eng or B.Sc in Electrical Engineering required.
• Minimum 6 years post-graduate experience in electrical power systems engineering (distribution).
• ECSA registration mandatory.
• Experience with power system analysis tools ETAP, PSS/E, or PowerFactory.
• Solid knowledge of SANS, IEC codes and safety regulations.
• Experience in project management and contract administration.

Responsabilités

• Design, develop, and implement electrical distribution systems including substations, overheads, and underground networks.
• Perform power flow, short-circuit, and stability analyses.
• Develop protection schemes and ensure standards compliance.
• Conduct site inspections and supervise installation and commissioning.
• Troubleshoot complex electrical faults and operational issues.
• Manage projects from conception to completion (scope, budget, schedule).
