Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (PE) to join our Philadelphia or Wayne, PA team. The ideal candidate will lead electrical design for complex commercial and institutional buildings, focusing on building power distribution and advanced electrical systems.

The role requires a PE license, 10+ years of experience, and the ability to mentor junior engineers while coordinating with architects, contractors, and other engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 10+ years of electrical engineering experience.
• Strong experience designing electrical systems for commercial and institutional buildings.
• Significant experience with building power distribution systems.
• Experience with complex projects such as healthcare, higher education, science & technology, or life sciences facilities.
• Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and engineering practices.
• Experience performing electrical engineering calculations and equipment selections.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD; Revit experience strongly preferred.
• Experience leading projects and mentoring junior engineers/designers.
• Strong technical, project management, communication, and client-facing capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical engineering design for complex commercial and institutional building projects.
• Design and oversee building power distribution systems.
• Perform and review electrical load, power, and related engineering calculations.
• Establish project design criteria and perform code research.
• Develop electrical plans, specifications, reports, and construction documents.
• Coordinate electrical systems with architectural, mechanical, plumbing, and other disciplines.
• Provide technical leadership throughout design and construction.
• Manage electrical engineering assignments, project schedules, and budgets; participate in multidisciplinary project meetings.
• Perform and supervise construction administration activities.
• Participate in QA/QC reviews and development of engineering standards.
• Manage and develop relationships with clients and contractors.
• Mentor and review the work of junior engineers and designers.
• Prepare proposals and participate in client presentations.
• Maintain current knowledge of electrical codes, technologies, equipment, and design practices.
