Job summary
ReaderLink is seeking a Senior Designer, Custom Publishing to lead the creation of front and back matter for children’s imprints, from concept to print-ready files. You will design covers, interiors, and packaging for board books, novelty formats, and licensed products while coordinating with editors and leadership on rapid timelines.
The role demands a strong portfolio, six to eight years’ experience in design, and expert use of Adobe Creative Cloud.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or related field required.
- 6–8 years of professional design experience; children’s publishing or licensed publishing experience preferred.
- Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud; thorough knowledge of print-ready file preparation.
- Strong portfolio showing typography, layout, cover design and print production.
Responsibilities
- Independently design and manage a high volume of custom publishing projects across Silver Dolphin Books and Studio Fun International, meeting aggressive deadlines.
- Develop commercially appealing covers, interiors, packaging, and specialty-component designs for various formats.
- Execute rapid-turnaround schedules from ideation to final print-ready files on compressed timelines.
- Collaborate with editors and leadership to brainstorm concepts, develop formats, mockups, and sales presentations.
