Job summary

Mutual of Omaha Mortgage is seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst in hybrid Irvine, CA. The role is contract to full time and demands hands-on ownership of data solutions from intake through post-launch, with advanced SQL and data validation at the core.

You will work across Operations, Finance, and Compliance to ensure accurate data and regulatory alignment, including data ingestion via APIs and SFTP, and collaboration with data engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of business/data analysis experience with hands-on data warehousing/ETL/ELT or BI/reporting delivery.
• Advanced SQL: complex joins, window functions, large datasets; SQL assessment expected.
• Databricks experience and familiarity with modern data platforms.
• Strong data profiling, validation, reconciliation, and data quality mindset.
• Experience owning end-to-end data projects from intake to post-launch support.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own intake for data, reporting, and analytics requests and prioritize against data roadmap.
• Lead end-to-end data projects: scoping, planning, build, validation, UAT, and launch.
• Write and validate complex SQL; develop data validation and reconciliation tests.
• Drive UAT, defect tracking, and sign-off before production cutover.
• Collaborate with Legal/Compliance to meet RESPA, TILA, HMDA requirements.
• Coordinate data ingestion from APIs and SFTP feeds; ensure data lineage and quality.
