Job summary

The Hartford's Enterprise Data Services team is seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst to join our Global specialty IT support. You will gather requirements from stakeholders, perform data analysis using SQL, and collaborate with IT, Product, and Reporting partners across the enterprise.

This hybrid role requires near Hartford, CT, with in-office three days a week and strong mentoring of junior analysts, documentation of data mappings, and driving best practices in data assets and reporting.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in business requirements or data analysis in insurance or data warehouse projects.
• Proficient with SQL and Snowflake data platform.
• Strong insurance product knowledge and analytical thinking.
• Excellent communication and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience working in an Agile team.

Responsibilities

• Applies strong functional knowledge and elicitation techniques to draw out data and analytics requirements from stakeholders.
• Work with internal partners to determine needs, gather requirements, and develop data assets and reporting.
• Performs requirements planning, monitoring and requirements management.
• Conducts rigorous data analysis, data discovery and profiling using SQL to support requirements development.
• Maintains data mapping documents, bus matrix and data design artifacts.
• Acts as liaison between business and IT stakeholders, providing thought leadership.
