Job summary

LinkedIn is seeking a Senior Engineer - Commodity / Vendor Management in Mountain View, CA. The role is hybrid, combining home and office work days as needed to support strategy, supplier engagements, and lifecycle execution for datacenter hardware components.

You will partner with senior leaders to drive commodity strategies, manage supplier performance, and lead negotiations across CPUs, GPUs, DRAM, NAND, NVMe/SSD, HDD, and other server components.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent in a relevant field.
• 6+ years in commodity management, vendor management, or hardware sourcing for datacenter/enterprise hardware.
• Experience with CPUs/GPUs/DRAM/NAND/SSD/NVMe/HDD/server platforms.
• Experience with suppliers, contract manufacturers, ODMs/OEMs, or global production teams.
• Experience in sourcing, pricing negotiations, or supplier performance management.
• Analytical skills to analyze cost, supply, demand and supplier performance.
• Ability to independently execute operational responsibilities in a small cross-functional team.

Responsibilities

• Support commodity strategies across key server components and track market trends.
• Manage supplier relationships, pricing, forecasts, and delivery performance.
• Collaborate with Supply Planning and OxMs to track demand and supply commitments.
• Lead pricing and commercial discussions with senior leaders when needed.
• Support NPI and lifecycle execution from qualification through production ramp.
• Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions for quality and delivery.
• Drive cross-functional execution and provide visibility into cost, supply risks.
