Job summary

Credence is hiring a Senior Cloud Systems Administrator to support enterprise hosting environments for mission-critical applications. The role requires managing Windows Server and Linux systems, implementing DevOps practices, and collaborating with cybersecurity, network, and program teams.

The position is hybrid with on-site support at Credence Headquarters in McLean, VA three days per week, and involves automation, monitoring, and disaster recovery responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in IT, CS, Engineering, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience administering Windows Server environments in enterprise settings.
• Experience supporting Linux operating systems in production environments.
• Experience with PowerShell and at least one scripting language such as Bash or Python.
• Experience with virtualization technologies: VMware vSphere and/or Hyper‑V.
• Experience implementing or supporting DevOps tools and practices.
• Familiarity with Git and source control systems.
• Strong understanding of networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls.
• Experience with system monitoring, logging, and performance management.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and troubleshoot Windows Server environments (AD, GPO, DNS, DHCP, IIS).
• Manage Linux servers (Red Hat, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu) in enterprise environments.
• Monitor performance, availability, and capacity of hosted apps/services.
• Implement and improve infrastructure automation using scripting and CM tools.
• Support CI/CD pipelines, IaC, automated deployments, and monitoring.
• Collaborate with developers, security, network engineers, and stakeholders.
• Perform patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and hardening.
• Manage virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper‑V) and cloud platforms.
• Develop and maintain runbooks, SOPs, and diagrams.
• Participate in incident response and root-cause analyses.
