GFT in Chicago is seeking a Senior Architect to lead design development across commercial, institutional, federal, transportation, and utility sectors. The role follows a hybrid work model with regular office presence in Chicago and collaboration with in-house engineers and project teams.

Requirements include a US-licensed Architect, a Bachelor’s or Master of Architecture, proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit, strong design and graphic skills, and experience with BIM platforms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master of Architecture required.
• Licensed/Registered Architect in the United States.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit for design and construction documentation.
• Strong design, graphic, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead interdisciplinary collaboration with engineering, construction management, and consultants.
• Oversee project deliverables, schedules, and budgets.
• Manage client engagement through meetings and presentations.
• Prepare architectural documents (drawings, specs, reports) for all project phases.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, vendors, and contractors.
• Guide material selection, systems, and sustainable strategies.
• Review codes and regulatory requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and present materials for approvals.
• Lead detailing efforts to improve constructability and performance.
• Conduct QA reviews for quality and consistency.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs.
• Perform site visits and field observations with reports.
• Collaborate with PMs and Principals on project execution.
• Mentor peers in design excellence and technical integration.
