Job summary

Currency Exchange International is seeking a skilled Security Engineer to own preventative controls, threat mitigation, and security hygiene across a hybrid Orlando footprint. You will lead the design, implementation, and validation of enterprise-grade security controls and collaborate with IT operations, engineering, and external partners.

The role demands 5+ years in security engineering, a solid foundation in core security principles, and strong written communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or Information Security or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years in information security or security engineering.
• Experience implementing preventative security controls in a modern enterprise environment.
• Experience coordinating third-party penetration tests and translating automated findings into remediation guidance.
• Security certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own and execute preventative security controls and hygiene initiatives to improve security posture.
• Maintain knowledge of core security capabilities with emphasis on identity, access, endpoint, data protection, email security and vulnerability management.
• Drive hygiene work with disciplined task management and clear communication.
• Produce audit-ready documentation including runbooks and control narratives.
• Partner with IT operations and engineering to plan, execute, and validate control implementations with minimal disruption.
• Support application security and testing by coordinating with external penetration testers and translating findings into remediation guidance.
• Coordinate vulnerability management workflows and track fixes to reduce exposure.
• Contribute to evidence readiness by ensuring controls are auditable and well-documented.
• Collaborate with MDR and security partners to align controls with detection and response.
