Job summary

Crutchfield in Charlottesville, VA is seeking a Security Analyst II to prevent, detect, investigate, and remediate cybersecurity issues. You will work with operational teams to troubleshoot security technologies and apply sound judgment to evolving situations.

The role requires at least two years in cybersecurity, strong communication skills, and a willingness to learn. Hybrid schedule with 3 days onsite weekly; sponsorship is not available. Competitive benefits included.

Qualifications

• At least two years of experience in a full‑time cybersecurity role, or an equivalent combination of cybersecurity certifications and experience in a security‑adjacent technical role such as systems or network administration
• Strong technical foundation with demonstrated analytical, troubleshooting, and problem‑solving skills
• Working knowledge of information security principles and best practices
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Self‑motivation, curiosity, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and share information

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage alerts from SIEM, logs, network traffic, EDR, email security gateways, and secure web gateways
• Review threat intelligence to stay informed about current cyber threats
• Maintain awareness of evolving threats, technologies, and defensive practices through training and independent research
• Investigate security incidents by collecting and analyzing logs, alerts, and evidence
• Identify and implement measures to contain, mitigate, and remediate incidents or identified issues
• Follow and help maintain Crutchfield incident response policies, plans, and procedures
• Prepare clear written reports about security threats, incidents, findings, and recommendations
• Audit systems against standards such as NIST CSF 2.0 and validate controls
• Assess security posture of systems and coordinate changes with operational teams
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to troubleshoot controls and document security processes
• Use AI‑enabled tools thoughtfully when approved and verify outputs with human judgment
