Job summary

CFS in Chicago is seeking an SEC Reporting Manager to lead quarterly and annual filings, oversee technical accounting, and drive reporting improvements. The role collaborates with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to ensure accurate disclosures and compliance in a fast-paced environment.

You will mentor the SEC Reporting team, coordinate with Legal, Tax, FP&A, and External Auditors, and automate processes to enhance efficiency while maintaining rigorous controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• CPA certification is required.
• 8+ years of accounting experience including public accounting and SEC reporting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Experience preparing/reviewing SEC filings (10-K/10-Q).
• Strong technical accounting and analytical skills.
• Experience with Workiva or ActiveDisclosure preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and filing of quarterly and annual SEC reports (10-Qs, 10-Ks, 8-Ks).
• Manage and mentor the SEC Reporting team.
• Research and resolve complex accounting and reporting matters including equity compensation and EPS.
• Evaluate impact of new transactions and accounting standards on filings.
• Oversee disclosure checklists and support XBRL review process.
• Serve as primary contact with external auditors on SEC reporting matters.
• Partner with Legal, Tax, FP&A, Investor Relations, and International Finance.
• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities within SEC reporting.
