Job summary

Maricopa County in Arizona is seeking a Roadway Design Engineer to lead roadway projects through all design phases, ensuring compliance with MCDOT standards. The role focuses on designing and reviewing roadway components, coordinating with teams, and delivering plans, specifications, and estimates for public works projects.

Hybrid work option after a brief training period, with a pay range of $90,000 - $133,750 annually, and benefits including tuition reimbursement and a strong work-life balance.

Qualifications

• Two years of professional civil engineering work experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
• Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) by the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration, or by another state with ability to obtain Arizona registration within six months.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and inspect components of roadway engineering projects.
• Prepare conceptual plans, detailed plans, specifications, and estimates for public works construction components.
• Coordinate/prep/ review phases or components of projects, including engineering reports and calculations.
• Review project deliverables and assess scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
• Develop drafting plans and technical drawings, and perform computing work as required.
