Job summary

Caltrans in California seeks a Supervising Right of Way Agent – Project Delivery. The role leads a team of Senior RW Branch Chiefs handling appraisals, acquisitions, condemnations, railroads, and related duties for capital projects, ensuring timely delivery and compliance.

The position requires state-service experience at the Senior Right of Way Agent level or extensive acquisition experience with supervisory duties.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in the California state service performing the duties of a Senior Right of Way Agent.
• Five years of progressively responsible experience involving all major phases of the acquisition of rights of way for governmental or public utility use, two years of which must have been in a full supervisory or administrative capacity.
• Education: Equivalent to graduation from college. (Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.)

Responsibilities

• Supervise a team of professional Senior RW Branch Chiefs responsible for RW Project Delivery functions including Appraisals, Acquisition, Condemnation, Railroads, Federal Lands, Relocation Assistance, Utilities, Project Coordination, and Planning & Management.
• Delivery of Right of Way certifications for all capital projects (COS) including Minor and Maintenance programs.
• Coordinate the Right of Way delivery schedule and fulfill Contract for Delivery commitments.
• Develop, implement, and monitor workload distribution, priorities, allocations, and expenditures; set the tone for professional and ethical conduct.
